DUTIES:  Developed first Smaller Learning Communities/Career Academy High School in the State of Nevada to include:

 

1)      First SLC program with students divided into academic houses

         (Stanford, Columbia and Harvard)

2)      Developed personalized mentor program for students that included a structured curriculum

         and a mentor piece that provides an adult as a personal mentor and as a leader to help the

         student develop a full five year plan

3)      Developed AIVD program and curriculum for school

4)      Directed and wrote a Freshman Academy program that consists of four modules:  Reading

         Improvement; Financial Management; Career identification and college identification; Study

         skills and motivation

5)      Directed and wrote a Professional Career Academy program for implementation in 05-06 to

         allow students one career pathway as a “major”

6)        Opened a new building to include planning for architectural restructuring and ordering of all

         equipment.

School has been recognized as:  1) New American High School--U.S. Department of Education; 2) High Achieving High School--Nevada Department of Education; 3) STAR School--International Network of Performing and Visual Arts Schools; 4) Grammy Signature School--two years.
